| It's not that I'm glad Americans have such poor health or that I hold stock in Big N' Tall; I just like being able plump asses to think "Ha! See, it's not just me!" I accept personal responsibility for my weight. I am an adult and I control what goes in my mouth and how often I exercise my butt. However, it is reassuring to know that I plump asses am not alone in my fight with obesity, that it is actually a very common problem, and that, hey, maybe there are some external factors that are pushing so many of us up plump asses the scales. It's not completely a personal failure as some 'thin supremacists' might have you think. Until I educated myself about food this past year, I was unaware of how horrible so many foods at the grocery store are for you. Seems as though I'm not the only one who was living in ignorance. While the obesity epidemic is certainly a bad thing which will run up health care costs and death rates, I guess it's true that misery loves company. |
