The obvious conclusion is that if people are confronted with the reality of what they’re eating, they won’t eat it. And hey fatty boom boom in the case of Ruby Tuesday, they didn’t eat the healthy stuff either, but rather went to Outback, etc., where they could order their high-calorie, high-fat food in blissful ignorance This seems like a case where hey fatty boom boom across-the-board federal regulations like the MEAL Act or the other similar hey fatty boom boom bills that have been introduced would really help. Ruby Tuesday went out on a limb and got burned. But if all chain restaurants and fast food outlets had to disclose calories, fat, and sodium, then there would be nowhere for customers to go to bury their heads in the sand, and restaurants would begin to show a little more creativity in coming up with good tasting, healthier menu items.
